Okay, not very exciting ones. But this week I decided to, um, rebrand my selling. Or, let’s say, give it a brand. I changed my discogs name from harveyashley to old_ames_records and have started putting up a website. I have also listed some things (prints, DVD’s and a record that I can’t sell at discogs) on eBay.
For the website Old Ames Records I plan to have a gallery of the covers of albums I have for sale that links to each sale on Discogs, and a Print gallery that does the same for eBay, at least for the prints I’ve decided to try to sell. I have put up the print gallery for my Coop, Taz, Kozik, etc Rock Art (prints, but that’s all so far.
I’m thinking that in this “year of child-rearing and low-employment” that we have decided on, I should try to sell as much of my collections of saleables as I can, to make up for my rather substantial decline of income. Hopefully in a year I’ll have a more robust work situation again and won’t need to generate income from selling like I have been doing for the last few years, so I can work this year to sell more stuff than I had in my “casual sales” period of the last three years.
Towards that, and increasing the stock, we did take a gamble and buy about 200 old Country LP’s for $50. None of them so far seem to be great winners. But I think I can at least recoup what we spent. I did hope for more special rarities, but maybe country music just isn’t worth much (T-Rex and Dolly Parton are the only things I’ve found so far that are worth more than a couple of bucks…). Okay, so it isn’t all country…
On another note, I updated both my iPhone and my iPad to IOS 10.0.1 this morning. SO far, they both seem to still work. There are some interface things that I’m not super fond of, but I assume that I will get used to them.
