Ah yes, this.
I started this blog at Blogger.com back in 2005 after pondering watching either the AFI or the BFI Top 100 and not being able to remember what movies I had seen. I figured, well, maybe keep track of what I’m watching and do it online instead of on paper or in a file (so that I don’t misplace it).
Well, I converted it to a WordPress blog (using the “DIY Theme” by Randa Clay) and moved it to a website (penguindevil.com) hosted by old gone ISP Teleport.com. And then in 2009ish it moved to Bluehost.
I continued trying to at least mention every movie I watched for about 7 years until I stopped in October 2012 and the site sat dormant.
After a few years I started blogging a bit again, but not movies, at mr-wford.com.
Then, after joining Letterboxd in 2023, I decided to start trying to jot notes down about movies again.
Then, in 2024, I decided to shutter penguindevil permanently, and the old Mr-Wford and combine them into this new mr-wford.com, but still using the old DIY Theme that penguindevil had been using for over 15 years. Sadly, and of course, DIY theme is long past being updated, and the moving of posts from here to there and from hoster to hoster has led to some oddities, but I am still intent on keeping the “DIY Theme” going!
